Gnome goes to Hawaii

I've never even been to Hawaii...now my Gnome is in Hawaii!!

This is what he wrote:

Greetings from Hawaii.  I met up with what you might call and "environmental enthusiest" who offered to let me stow away in his canoe as he paddled to this beautiful island Waikiki.  I had to sleep on the beach the first night (my new friend gave me a towel to use) but it was better than being buried by a snow drift.  haha.  I am looking for work (maybe as a hula dancer) here on the island and am hoping to do some sight seeing between jobs.  Sorry this is so quick, but being that I don't have a place to stay right now, people are not too willing to let me use their computers very long.  I will write to you again as soon as I can.

Hello family.  It was nice to hear from you yesterday.  I am being careful and you are right, no everyone can be trusted as you will see from the pictures above.  There was a little misunderstanding with the locals.  Apparently they do not like when you take the apple out of the pigs mouth during a Luau.   It was all straightened out with nothing more than an apology and a promise to stay away from the next Luau. 

I did see on cable news the other day that the weather is starting to warm up at home.  Don't worry.  I will be home soon as I can raise the funds.  However, I am rather enjoying my travels.  I do miss you all!

Gnome contacts his cousin

Hello family.  Hawaii is wonderful!  I was working at a Luau when I ran into a friend from CA.  He took me to see the stature of "Duke" who was a famous surfer. 

I contacted my cousin who works for Travelocity, and he is working on getting me a discount flight back to CA.  From there I will have to hitch hike north.  I will try to get back before the pool opens.

yes, what are friends for but to pick you up on a down day and make you feel like a princess. my friend Robin sent me this little interpretation of me complete with a wand and crown. i think my favorite part is the wings, so I can fly!!

Gnome cat sitting and bird watching.....hmmmmm?

Well, after leaving Las Vegas I took a small detour to help the good people of Louisiana in rebuilding some homes.  Have you ever tried building a house when your arms don't move?  Unfortunately I have no pictures to show you of my work as I had to sell my camera to pay for passage across the US.  I am now in Florida.  I had intended to home by now, but I am enjoying this taste of freedom and I may continue my travels a bit longer.

I was able to find short term work here in FL cat sitting for a very nice elderly couple who summer in the north.  They will be returning soon and I don't know where I will go next.  I also found time for my new passion, bird watching.  Amazing animals!!  Well, I have to go clean the little box and give Mr. Bigglesworth his evening meal.

Gnome get's a job as a pool cleaner

Hello Faimly,

I am sorry for the delay.  I decided to stay a bit longer.  After the nice elderly cat owners came back to FL I found work as a pool cleaner.  Attached is a picture of me with my boss.  I did not last long at that job as the snorkel was not long enough for me.  Again, having arms that don't move has cost me a job!  I miss you!
